Anita Geerts
Community Resource Facilitator

Anita works with patients of the Pain and Wellness Clinic recommending community resources which might be useful as part of ongoing pain mitigation and management, and lifestyle. She will help with community links for recreation support (ex. yoga, tai chi, etc.) and other meaningful engagement (ex. volunteering, arts and music) as well as pain groups and online resources.

Anita has an Honours B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Queens University, Masters in Library Science from University of Toronto, and a Masters in Computation from McMaster University. She spent most of her career in the high tech and information technologies fields as an Account Executive.

Anita has a strong interest in people’s life journeys to personal satisfaction even in the presence of pain. She spent years supporting her father with his neuropathic pain. She also volunteers with 360Kids (for homeless kids in York Region) and Aurora-King Hospice. Anita is an avid book club member, jogger, cyclist, fitness enthusiast, cook, and loves to sit in cafes


The Pain & Wellness Centre opened its doors in September 2014. It is a patient-centred, interdisciplinary specialty clinic that aims to treat pain and preserve wellness. It is comprehensive, uses a whole-person approach, and offers choices regarding treatments. It bridges eastern and western medicine, always using best practice guidelines and evidence based treatments, and offers multiple programs and services under one roof.
